Rio – Businessman Cleber Souza Moreira, found dead last Friday (26), inside Complexo do Salgueiro, in São Gonçalo, may have been the victim of a failure in the airbag system of his car, a Honda Civic model, which, according to the Niterói and São Gonçalo Homicide Police Station (DHNSG), he was on the steering wheel and in the passenger seat. Initially, it was reported that he had been killed by a gunshot.

The autopsy report has not yet been completed, but investigators interviewed by the DAY this Tuesday (30) state that technical expertise did not find gunshot marks on the businessman’s body or vehicle.

According to the Civil Police, the injury to the victim’s chest was caused by the airbag. Experts are still investigating whether the safety device was activated before or after the driver crashed. The police interviewed witnesses, who confirmed the vehicle collision.

The car was found a few meters from the businessman’s house. The vehicle and body were taken by residents outside the Salgueiro community and left on one of the access roads to the Complex, on BR-101, to receive police assistance.

The police also want to know who gave the order to remove the car from the community. The Civil Police also clarified that preliminary information about a possible murder was considered due to the location and appearance of the wound.
