A unique state, with almost all of the best indicators in Brazil. This is how Santa Catarina was portrayed in the Gaucho newspapers that I read as a teenager. This caught my attention and influenced my decision to migrate to work in Joinville as a journalist. More than three decades later, that strength has multiplied into a state open to Brazilians and foreigners who make SC their “country” with a thriving, resilient and open economy to the world.

45 years ago, NSC – then RBS -, Rede Brasil Sul de Comunicação, became part of this dynamic trajectory, being one of the protagonists of this admirable state. Santa Catarina also enchanted the founder of RBS, Maurício Sirotsky, motivating him to invest here.
When I mention the word “protagonist” it is because I am sure that quality journalism improves people’s lives, the economy, and boosts economic and social development.
The economic news we publish, for example, is transformative because it informs those who decide, inspires, generates reflections, connections, new businesses and this results in economic and social development. This is how we can help SC be even better.

Increasingly, Santa Catarina draws attention to the economic diversity in each sector. It starts in agriculture, goes through livestock, in diversified industry, shines in commerce, services, exports and imports and tourism in all regions, all year round.
In my opinion, Santa Catarina has a resilient economy like no one else, with a lot of talent, quality, innovation and a lot of work day and night.
As a journalist in SC, I was able to meet and publicize hundreds of examples of entrepreneurs who, with commitment, knowledge and courage, invest, manufacture and sell products for Brazil and the world. And many others who conquer spaces in other sectors.
But what I love most about Santa Catarina are the people who live here. They form a team that “plays” together, with work and sensitivity, open to receiving more ‘players’, with a local perspective, but without forgetting that a global vision is needed.

It is a state that has a giant ‘heart’ to receive, but that beats at the global rhythm. We are in one of the best locations in the world. And NSC remains a protagonist in all of this.
