A man was arrested after stabbing a co-worker, inside the Teixeira de Freitas Municipal Hospital, located on Avenida Presidente Getúlio Vargas, this Monday (30).

Soldiers from the 87th Independent Military Police Company (CIPM) arrested the man suspected of attacking a woman with a knife. The teams were called after the complaint and began efforts to arrest the suspect, who was identified, approached and immediately detained at the scene.

According to preliminary information, the suspect with a knife entered the hospital unit and stabbed a co-worker. The victim was treated at the hospital itself. The man was restrained by employees and taken by military police officers to a police unit.

According to information released by TV Bahia, the woman is the coordinator of the ‘Programa Melhor em Casa’ and the suspect was an alleged driver for the Municipal Health Department. Teixeira de Freitas City Hall was contacted by the report and said it would not comment.

The 1st Territorial Police Station (DT/Teixeira de Freitas) recorded an attempted murder against a woman. Statements were collected and images from security cameras will help in the investigation of the crime. The man was taken to the Civil Police station, where the incident was formalized.
