Continuing the work to strengthen new international issuing markets for Alagoas, the State Government won another direct operation from Uruguay (Montevideo) for the month of July. The flight operated by Azul Linhas Aéreas, in partnership with operators HiperViajes and Abtour, arrives on Maceio soil on June 29th and returns on July 6th. The news was released, this Monday (29), on the official networks of Governor Paulo Dantas.
According to the Secretary of State for Tourism, Bárbara Braga, the capture of this flight was articulated in recent events with Setur’s effective participation in international markets. “We had no direct flights from the Uruguayan market for more than 20 years, until we achieved two direct operations that were carried out during the Holy Weeks of 2023 and 2024. It is a work of continuity”, she recalled.
For the secretary, this is proof that the State Government’s investments are being directed assertively, resulting in the growth of one of Alagoas’ main economies: tourism.
“With just one flight we were able to bring 174 tourists, occupy the hotel network, move small businesses, boost the economy with the purchase of handicrafts, increase the flow in bars and restaurants, in addition to consolidating Alagoas as a destination with capacity and infrastructure for tourism. international market. It is, in fact, a production chain that impacts lives and develops places”, explained Bárbara.
