A notice for an award for screening short films from Minas Gerais was launched this Tuesday, April 30th. Targeted at productions carried out in the interior of Minas Gerais, the program will select and award films produced in the various regions of the state. The initiative is from the Minas Gerais Communications Company (EMC), through Rede Minas.
The action aims to promote and expand the reach of short film audiovisual works by filmmakers from the interior of the state of Minas Gerais, democratizing and expanding access to culture and enhancing the dissemination of decentralized audiovisual production. The works entered must meet the internalization criteria, be in the format of a short film – five to 25 minutes in length – and produced from 2019 onwards, with a free theme and genre. The notice will include ten proposals. Each award-winning work receives R$6,000.
The selected films will become part of a works database and will gain visibility with their inclusion in the catalog of the free streaming platform EMCplay. The works can also be broadcast on Rede Minas, according to availability in the programming schedule.
Registration is free and runs until June 19th. Individuals or legal entities with proven residence or headquarters in the interior of Minas Gerais can register. Works produced in the capital and in cities located in the Metropolitan Region of Belo Horizonte are not included in this notice.
