With a favorable opinion from the Labor and Public Administration Commission, Bill 50/2024 promises to bring a series of benefits to both drivers and the responsible authorities.
“The initiative aims to speed up and make the process of alerting drivers about the need to renew their licenses, undergo medical examinations and participate in special courses more effective,” explains Nininho.
TRUCK DRIVERS
The deputy highlights that the measure mainly benefits truck drivers, who often face difficulties in coordinating the different due dates for medical exams in relation to the driver’s license.
“With electronic notification, all drivers will have quick and easy access to the information necessary to keep their license up to date, avoiding fines and inconvenience during inspections”, points out Nininho.
SERVICE IMPROVEMENT
Furthermore, the modernization of the notification system represents a significant step towards improving the services offered by the body responsible for traffic management.
Nininho highlights that “in view of the challenges faced by drivers in complying with legal requirements for driving vehicles, the approval of PL 50 represents an important step forward in the search for solutions that facilitate drivers’ daily lives and contribute to traffic safety” .
Now, the project goes to the second vote and then to the sanction of Governor Mauro Mendes.
“The matter demonstrates the commitment of deputies and public authorities to modernizing and improving policies aimed at traffic on the country’s roads”, assesses Nininho.
