The energy bill will become cheaper in Alagoas from Friday (3). The tariff reduction was approved by the National Electric Energy Agency (Aneel) this Tuesday (30).
The agency’s decision will reduce 3.49% the value of electricity tariffs in AlagoasIt is 1.3 million consumers will benefit from the reduction in the state.
See below the new indices announced by consumption class:
- Low voltage energy reception (most consumers): –0.26%
- High voltage reception (medium and large industries and commerce): –11.80%
- Average effect for consumers: –3.49%
The tariff reduction in Alagoas comes after a tariff review by Equatorial, an energy distributor in the state, conducted by Aneel. This review is carried out every five years.
Government wants to reduce electricity bills by 3.5% in 2024
To achieve this effect of reducing the bill, the government wants to advance payments provided for in the Eletrobras privatization law and allocate them to pay the “Covid account” and the “water scarcity account”.
