March has the highest positive balance of jobs in 2024 in RN

Rio Grande do Norte ended the month of March this year with a positive balance of 1,415 formal jobs. This is the highest number compared to the months of January (1,183) and February (241) of 2024. In total, there were 20,842 admissions and 19,427 dismissals. Currently, RN has a stock of more than 504 thousand people working with a formal contract.

The balance is from the General Register of Employed and Unemployed Persons (Novo Caged) released this Tuesday (30) by the Ministry of Labor and Employment. Across Brazil, the positive balance was 244,315 jobs, totaling 46,236,308 people with active CLT employment. The increase is 0.53%, compared to the previous month.

Adding up the three months published by Novo Caged for 2024, Rio Grande do Norte had 56,526 admissions and 53,687 dismissals, with a positive balance of 2,839 formal jobs.

During the month of March, the largest positive balance was in the Service sector, with 2,535, including 9,036 admissions and 6,501 dismissals. The other sectors that also hired more than fired were Commerce (925) and Construction (628). In contrast, Agriculture presented the biggest drop during the month of March, with a negative balance of 1,667, caused by 602 hirings and 2,269 dismissals. The other sector with the highest number of layoffs was Industry (1,035).
