Plane provided by Justice to the Assembly carries out the first transport of organs in the State; four people received donations

Fulfilling its duty and institutional mission of serving the population, the Legislative Assembly of the State of Goiás (Alego) made available, this Sunday, the 28th, the plane, recently given to the Legislative Branch by the Court, for the transport of organs from the city of Uruaçu to Goiânia . In integrated work with the State Department of Health (SES), four people received kidney and cornea donations.

The aircraft, seized by the Federal Police (PF) in operations against drug trafficking, will be used by the Legislative Branch for parliamentary activities and for rescue, emergency and organ transport operations.

According to the President of the Goiás Parliament, Bruno Peixoto (UB), the Baron 85-B55 model aircraft received authorization from the Court, to be used by the House of Laws, with the aim of transporting deputies on longer trips, and, now, it has carried out the first organ transport.

“Granted by Justice to Alego, the plane is not limited to transporting parliamentarians on longer trips, but, above all, in critical rescue operations and emergency care, including the rapid transport of organs for transplants. Our mission is to serve the population, and this plane has precisely that objective. It is gratifying to see that lives were saved through this noble action”, said Bruno Peixoto.

Operation

At 2 pm, the doctors began the organ removal procedure and, at around 4:30 pm, the team was already taking off back from the Hospital Estadual Centro Norte Goiano (HCN), in the municipality of Uruaçu, heading to Santa Genoveva airport, in Goiânia. , where the ground transportation team was already waiting for the organs to arrive. Speed ​​is essential for tissue preservation and transplant success.

Responsible for commanding the aircraft, the pilot and lieutenant colonel of the Alego Military Fire Department, Fernando Rezende, highlighted the importance of the action, which, according to him, “was very worth it”. “What sustains us in this work are situations like these. There are days when our work is difficult, we are not always successful in rescuing, but when we save a life, it is so worth it.”

In addition to him, doctors José Dimas Silveira Júnior and Rogério Paes Camapum Guedes, and nurses Adrianna Pereira do Prado Paula and Maria Angélica de Oliveira also participated in the operation.
