Industry increased the balance of formal jobs in Amazonas in March, points out Novo Caged

Amazonas closed the month of March with a positive balance of 3,200 formal jobs, driven by industry, with 1,218 new vacancies. In the year to date (January/2024 to March/2024), the balance was positive at 6,911 jobs. The balance is from the General Register of Employed and Unemployed Persons (Novo Caged) released this Tuesday (30) by the Ministry of Labor and Employment.

Brazil closed the month with a positive balance of 244,315 formal jobs. Year to date, the balance was positive at 719,033 jobs, which represents an increase of 34% compared to the first three months of last year, according to Novo Caged.

The Minister of Labor and Employment, Luiz Marinho, reported that this was the best Caged result for the month of March since 2020.

The total number of active CLT contracts reached 46,236,308 in March this year, which represents an increase of 0.53% compared to the previous month.

The biggest growth in formal employment last month occurred in the services sector, with the creation of 148,722 jobs. In commerce, 37,493 jobs were created; in industry, 35,886, concentrated in the manufacturing industry; and in construction 28,666. The only major group with a negative balance was agriculture, with 6,457 fewer jobs, due to the sector’s seasonality.

The average admission salary was R$2,081.50. Compared to the previous month, there was a real decrease of R$5.25, a negative variation of 0.25%.

The majority of vacancies created in March were filled by women (124,483). Men occupied 119,832 new positions. The age group with the highest balance was 18 to 24 years old, with 138,901 positions.

All regions of the country had a positive balance in job creation last month, with an increase in formal work in 25 of the 27 federation units. Alagoas and Sergipe recorded more dismissals than admissions, with a negative balance of 9,589 jobs (-2.2%) and 1,875 jobs (-0.6%), respectively.

In relative terms, the states with the greatest variation in job creation in relation to the previous month’s stock are Acre, with the opening of 1,183 jobs, an increase of 1.13%; Goiás, which created 15,742 vacancies (1.02%); and Piauí, with a positive balance of 3,015 jobs (0.86%).

In absolute terms, the federation units with the highest balance last month were São Paulo, with 76,941 jobs (0.6%); Minas Gerais, with 40,796 vacancies created (0.9%); and Rio de Janeiro, with the creation of 22,466 jobs (0.7%).
