About PRS – Cerrado and investment in research

The PRS – Cerrado aims to promote the generation of knowledge and strengthen the critical mass of teaching, research and development institutions and researchers involved in themes that encompass the adoption of low carbon emission technologies in the Cerrado. To this end, it provides financial support for the execution of research projects in two lines of action:

● Research and Development (R&D) Notice – aimed at teaching and research institutions and their researchers, aims to attract new initiatives and innovations aimed at sustainable agricultural production systems with a focus on low-carbon farming and technological and market in the states where the project operates;

● Targeted Research – encompasses projects that aim to respond to the main gaps and current knowledge demands on the topic and technologies supported by the project, in addition to monitoring and monitoring priority research to achieve the project’s objectives.

With an investment of more than 12 million reais, PRS – Cerrado supports 35 scientific research grouped by theme, 13 of which are in the Directed Research line and 22 included in the selection process of the Research and Development Notice.
