Members of the Roraima cultural segment demand execution of the Paulo Gustavo Law – Nonato Sousa/ SupCom ALE-RR

The president of the Legislative Assembly of Roraima (ALE-RR), Soldado Sampaio, and deputy Marcos Jorge, both from the Republican Party, received this Tuesday (30) culture makers from different segments who demand from parliament the publication of the notices so that artists can have their projects covered by a portion of the federal funding allocated to Roraima, through the Paulo Gustavo Law, to encourage cultural production.

According to Thiago Briglia, member of the Pro-Culture Committee, the state government has held mandatory public disputes twice, but has not yet given any feedback on the demands of civil society nor released notices for competition.

“In this meeting with President Sampaio and Deputy Marcos Jorge, the call for representatives from the Civil House and Secretariat of Culture was sent. [Secult], so that we can sit at the table and understand what is happening, why this delay in launching the notices and the lack of sharing of the drafts with civil society, so that we can execute our projects and make cultural products reach the main beneficiaries. In addition to injecting resources into the creative economy, we also have the opportunity to take our art within and outside the State. That’s what we want”, highlighted Briglia.

Professor Lucélia Bento participated in the meeting. She reports that those involved in culture have been waiting for a long time for progress in the area, which could be achieved with the approval of the aforementioned standard. Now, she awaits the execution of the law to put into practice a project aimed at early childhood education, which involves learning and music.

“My focus has always been school education. The only thing that has saved me and other artists is the law to encourage culture and Aldir Blanc. We are here with a single objective: to make it happen, because we are going to do it even if it is with our own fists and strength, and that is what we have been doing to this day”, he declared.

Soldado Sampaio stated that, through the Culture and Youth Commission, chaired by deputy Lucas Souza (PL), he will mediate a meeting between the local demanding class and the Executive Branch to obtain answers.

“We will ask you, once again, to open the doors of the palace [Senador Hélio Campos, sede do governo estadual] and Secult to receive these workers, so that we can create these notices together and they can be launched as soon as possible. The government has been clinging to deadlines, but they are already expiring. The final date will arrive and the notices have not been released, much less the awards. There’s no need to wait. We need to understand what is happening”, stressed Sampaio.
