The inconvenience and difficulties faced by drivers traveling on rural roads that give access to Núcleo Rural Rajadinha l, in Planaltina, are close to an end. This week, the Federal District Highway Department (DER) began maintenance and expansion work on local roads.
The access roads to the town were in poor condition, practically impassable, with many sections showing gaps and potholes that became real traps for everyone using the highways. Residents complain that, during the rainy season, drivers compete in narrow lanes, posing risks for everyone seeking access to that rural community.
The DF-250, a highway that connects communities in the rural areas of Rio Preto, Tabatinga and Rajadinha, also has dangerous sections. In order to solve the problem, DER initiated a series of improvements, aiming not only to widen the road, but to implement measures that will guarantee safety for drivers and residents. The changes also include adequate signage, reinforcement of paving and other measures to reduce the risk of accidents.
Another old demand from the rural area, according to residents, is the implementation of more efficient public transport for the region. The community remembers that in addition to the terrible road conditions, the public transport service leaves a lot to be desired and does not offer any security to the user.
District Pepa, who visited the region, highlighted the same thought and highlighted the importance of improving roads, as well as adding more buses to serve the population living in rural areas. “We have already made a request to Semob to increase the number of lines, implement new routes, and also improve the bus fleet that serves the region. We cannot allow these people to walk in the sun and rain to access public transport”, concludes the parliamentarian.
