The reports from the second stage of the Minas Gerais Water Security Plan (PMSH) are now available for consultation on the program’s official website.

In this second stage of the plan, detailed reports are presented on various aspects related to the State’s water security, such as studies of water availability and demand, assessment of biodiversity conservation, analysis of vulnerability to extreme events, analysis of basic sanitation, among others.

The environmental analyst at the Instituto Mineiro de Gestão das Águas (Igam) and coordinator of the PMSH, Lívia Costa, reports that these reports were fundamental in supporting future decisions and actions within the scope of the program.

“The next stages of the plan include the mapping of priority areas and the preparation of a project bank, the main stage of the PMSH. Afterwards, a communication plan will be developed and workshops, events and meetings will be held, culminating in the preparation of an executive summary of the plan”, he details.

We Are All Water Program

The Minas Gerais Water Security Plan is the planning phase of the We Are All Water Program, in which strategic interventions to promote water security are defined.

The program establishes strategies for water security and revitalization of river basins in Minas Gerais and aims to increase water security in the state, through the promotion of integrated and permanent actions.

“We Are All Water” is an umbrella under which several projects become associated with it over time.

Currently, the Somos Todos Água program has PMSH and the Viamão Basin Revitalization Project associated with it.
