The Public Ministry of the State of Alagoas (MP/AL) filed a Public Civil Action against the municipality of Lagoa da Canoa to suspend the public tender held in February of this year, 2024.
The document was published with the Request for Injunction and Process No. MP 08.2024.00033115-2 and proposes a Public Civil Action with a Request for Emergency Protection against the Municipality of Lagoa da Canoa.
The recommendation was made by prosecutor Lucas Schitini de Souza. The Public Ministry of the State of Alagoas (MP/AL), through the Lagoa da Canoa Public Prosecutor’s Office, received complaints and began, last month, a preparatory procedure to investigate possible irregularities in the public tender held for
filling positions at Lagoa da Canoa City Hall.
Among the issues raised, suspicions of fraud in the selection process stand out, with possible favors given to relatives and people linked to the management of the mayor of Lagoa da Canoa, Tainá Veiga, calling into question the honesty and credibility of the contest.
In view of possible irregularities, the ministerial body decided to initiate the preparatory procedure, taking several
measures, including requesting information from the Bahia Institute (ISBA), responsible for organizing the competition, and the public manager of the Municipality of Lagoa da Canoa, Mayor Tainá Veiga, who will now have a deadline to comment on the request to suspend the competition . Registration took place until the day
January 17th and the objective tests were carried out on February 25th, with 91 vacancies offered for positions at all levels of education and salaries from R$1,320 to R$3,867.98.
The complaints are approved by relatives of advisors and secretaries and also by members of the Competition Organizing Committee.
