This Tuesday, three games open the third round of the Copa do Brasil, which from now on will be played in round-trip games. There will be four teams from Series A and two from Series B in action.

7pm – Bahia x Criciúma – Arena Fonte Nova (Broadcast: SporTV and Premiere)

Two teams that arrive motivated by triumphs in the last round of the Brazilian Championship. Bahia, playing at home, beat Grêmio 1-0.

In the Copa do Brasil, Tricolor de Aço eliminated Moto Club and Caxias, in the previous two phases. Tigre comes from classifications over Operário de Várzea Grande-MT and Brasiliense.

This will be the first clash between the two teams in the Copa do Brasil. In the historical retrospect of the duel, there were 22 matches, with eight victories for Bahia, seven draws and seven victories for Criciúma.

The return game is scheduled for May 23rd, at Heriberto Hülse.

8pm – Operário x Grêmio – Germano Krüger (Broadcast: Amazon Prime)

First duel between Série A and Série B this Tuesday. Operário is another team that enters the field coming off a victory over the weekend, beating Ituano 2-0, away from home, maintaining 100% success in the first two rounds of the Segundona.

In the first two phases, Fantasma eliminated Operário-MS and Villa Nova-MG.

Grêmio wants to put the defeat and controversies of the game against Bahia behind them. As they are competing in the Libertadores, Tricolor Rio Grande do Sul is one of the 12 clubs that gained the benefit of debuting in the Copa do Brasil only from the third phase onwards.

The two teams have only faced each other twice in history. Both in Series B of 2022, with two victories from Rio Grande do Sul. 1-0, at Germano Kruger and 5-1, at Arena do Grêmio.

The return match is scheduled for May 22nd at Arena do Grêmio.

Duel between the runners-up of Series A and B, who come from victories in their respective championships. Atlético-MG, despite resting some starters, won 3-0 over Cuiabá, at Arena Pantanal. Galo is another who debuts in the Copa do Brasil in the third phase.

Sport, in turn, beat Vila Nova 2-0, at Arena de Pernambuco. A match that increased Leão’s streak of undefeated games to 13, the longest currently between clubs in the Brazilian Series A and B.

In the two previous phases of the Copa do Brasil, Leão defeated Trem-AP and Murici-AL.

This will be the fifth time that the two teams face each other in the Copa do Brasil. And the retrospect is favorable to Galo, who managed to qualify in three editions (1995, 2002 and 2010). Leão advanced in 2003.

Each of the 32 teams that will take the field in this third phase of the Copa do Brasil will receive R$ R$ 2.205 million just for participating. Classification for the round of 16 will yield more than R$3.465 million in prize money.
