According to Public Ministry of Mato Grosso (MPMT)this was the greatest environmental damage ever recorded in the state.

Still regarding the denied arrest request, the interviewee is emphatic:

“We are playing with the rules of Brazilian law and I always say, they are lax. If we don’t change this, we will continue to live with the same problems.”
