CEO of Salvador Bahia Airport is honored with the Title of Citizen of the City of Salvador – VoeNews

April, 2024 – In a solemn session held on Friday night (26), Julio Ribas, CEO of Salvador Bahia Airport, received the title of citizen of Salvador, granted by the Chamber of Councilors of Salvador, in recognition of the work led by him in the concession of the aerodrome in capital.

Surrounded by family, friends and representatives of the tourist trade, Ribas, who is from the state of Paraná, highlighted his affection for the city and thanked the initiative. “The city of Salvador has been going through many transformations over the years and needed an airport that was compatible with everything it had to offer. The work carried out by the Salvador Bahia Airport team is being recognized at this moment. One of the feelings that I admire most is gratitude and I could not fail to express my ‘thank you’ for this tribute”, he highlighted.

The granting of the title began with Project Resolution 149/2023, proposed by the councilor and former municipal Secretary of Culture and Tourism, Claudio Tinoco (União Brasil). During the handover ceremony, the politician emphasized the advances in the infrastructure of the airport in the capital of Bahia since Ribas arrived in Bahia in 2018. “This title is recognition of the fundamental role of this executive in the transformation of tourism in the capital and a symbol of the population’s appreciation for the results he achieved at the airport”, stated Tinoco.

In justifying the text that resulted in the tribute, Tinoco argued that the work carried out by Ribas in front of the aerodrome plays a fundamental role in the advancement of local tourism. In addition to being CEO of Salvador Bahia Airport, Ribas is also sub-coordinator of the Fecomércio-BA Tourism Business Chamber.

Graduated in Aeronautical Engineering from Instituto Tecnológico de Aeronáutica (ITA), and post-graduated from Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV), the executive has experience in air and industrial transport management. In addition to VINCI Airports, he also has experience with multinationals such as P&G, Mabesa, SCA do Brasil and Swissport, among others. In addition to Brazil, Ribas has worked in countries such as the USA, Mexico, Argentina and Malaysia.
