A cyclist from Rio Claro, a city in the interior of São Paulo, identified as Kelly Stefani de Oliveira Alves, aged 38, died this Sunday (28) after falling more than 15 meters from Ponte do Esqueleto.
Kelly was cycling yesterday morning with her husband and a group of cyclists, who also passed over the bridge. The location is on the border of the cities of Cordeirópolis and Limeira (SP).
According to
Fire Department, witnesses said that the cyclist had lost her balance when she put her foot on a wall, falling with the bike.
First responders from the fire department and the Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu) were called, but the cyclist succumbed to her injuries.
There is still no information about wake and burial. Kelly, who made her love for cycling clear on social media, left behind a seven-year-old son.
The bridge
The Skeleton Bridge is a route frequently used by cyclists and runners. The road project has been deactivated for 30 years and belongs to the state government.
There, people also gather to practice rope jumping, which is the free fall jump known as the human pendulum.
