Opened in November last year, the new Hospital Cassems Dourados is a reference in technology and medical assistance for the interior of Mato Grosso do Sul. The investment in infrastructure has placed the unit in the second largest city in the state at the forefront of support in medium and high health complexity for all cities in the southern region, comprising a population of almost one million inhabitants.

The entire hospital structure was presented on Saturday (27) during the 1st Medical Integration Meeting, in the auditorium of the Bahamas Hotel, in Dourados. Professionals from the region, such as Ponta Porã, Nova Andradina, Naviraí met with the management of Cassems Dourados, to better understand the services provided, the specialties offered and the new rules governing patient care.

“Cassems Dourados Hospital is prepared to be the specialized rearguard for all municipalities in the region. The purpose of the cutting-edge infrastructure and qualified medical and nursing staff is to facilitate the beneficiary’s access to the Dourados hospital, which has extensive technical and technological assistance, with services of the best quality and efficiency”, explains doctor Alessandro Falchembak, coordinator of the Cassems hospital medical staff in Dourados.

Before the new Hospital, doctors and patients in the southern region had Campo Grande as a reference. The reality changed and services began to be decentralized from the Capital. With more than 13,500m² of built area, the new Cassems Dourados Hospital has 163 beds distributed among 30 ICU beds, Medical Clinic, Pediatrics, Surgical Clinic, Oncology and Day Clinic. This made it possible to absorb services for medical specialties from cities in the regions of Ponta Porã, Naviraí, Nova Andradina, Maracaju, Rio Brilhante, a total of almost 40 municipalities.

As a reference in technology, Cassems Dourados Hospital has opened its doors for doctors from across the region to use the structure to perform surgical procedures not performed in other hospitals due to lack of equipment. “This makes it easier for the doctor, but especially for the patient, who does not need to travel to Campo Grande”, says doctor Alessandro Falchembak.

Valuing the quality of care and the safety of the Caixa dos Servidores beneficiary, the Dourados hospital unit is a reference, even for the entire State. The director of Cassems hospital units, Lauro Davi, says that the meeting with the medical profession on Saturday served as integration between health professionals, so that they could better understand the cutting-edge structure in Dourados, as well as to promote the exchange of knowledge.

Also present at the medical meeting, the superintendent of the hospital units, Eliezer Branquinho, highlighted the modernity of the Cassems Dourados hospital, with the most advanced equipment on the market, capable of optimizing countless medical procedures, to offer higher quality services to the patient, through of diagnoses and treatments.

The person responsible for the imaging sector, radiologist Dr. Vander Caetano Vieira, presented the modern structure of devices, such as the 1.5 tesla resonance, capable of performing the morphological part of the heart, for example. The tomography consists of a 128-slice device, intended for conventional and orthopedic examinations, with artifact subtraction, important for studying prostheses. Cassems Dourados Hospital also performs biopsies. “It is a park of modern equipment and laboratories, being the largest and most complete of the hospitals in Dourados”, explains Doctor Vander Caetano.
