Game between Internacional x Atlético-GO will be the first in the history of the Brasileirão with 100% female refereeing
The 4th round of the Brazilian Championship Series A will be a historic moment for the competition. This is because the game between Internacional x Atlético-GO, which takes place this Sunday (28), at the Beira-Rio Stadium, will have 100% female refereeing for the first time in the history of the tournament.
VAR will be handled by Daiana Muniz, from Mato Grosso do Sul. Born in Três Lagoas, Daiane Muniz is a prominent member of the CBF (Brazilian Football Confederation) arbitration panel, and was even chosen to represent Brazil in video arbitration at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
In 2020, Daiane became the first woman to be the main referee in a Mato Grosso Sul Championship match, in the game between Corumbaense and Maracaju. Afterwards, she transferred to the FPF (São Paulo Football Federation).
Edina Alves commands the refereeing trio on the field, with Neusa Inês Back and Fabrini Bevilaqua Costa as assistants. Thayslane de Melo Costa will serve as fourth referee.
Alongside Daiane Muniz will be Amanda Pinto Matias as AVAR. Charly Wendy Strauby Deretti will be the video assistant referee and Regildênia de Holanda Moura will be the VAR observer.
