A 21-year-old woman was killed with blows to the head in Ponte Serrada, in the West, on Saturday (27). One day before the crime, on Friday (26), the victim had requested a protective measure against her ex-partner, named for being the author of feminicide.

According to the Civil Police, the suspect is 32 years old and was notified of the measure hours before the crime. He was found dead this Sunday (28).

According to military police officers from the 30th Battalion, the young woman was hit by a tool used to tighten or loosen tubes or pipes, called a griffin wrench.

The crime took place around 9 am, in the São Sebastião neighborhood. The victim was from Santa Catarina.

The Civil Police opened an investigation to investigate the crime, but reported that other details of the case will be forwarded later so as not to hinder the investigations.

Until March of this year, Santa Catarina recorded 20 femicides. The number is higher than last year, when 17 women were killed due to their gender status in the state. The data is from the Public Security Secretariat (SSP).
