PC-AM arrests mastermind behind homicide carried out on public roads in Coari

The Civil Police of Amazonas (PC-AM), through the Interactive Police Station (DIP) of Coari (363 kilometers from Manaus), served, on Thursday (25/04), a preventive arrest warrant for Rosenildo Gomes Garcia, 33, known as “Estrela”, identified as having ordered the murder of Jonatas Amorim Anastácio, who was 25 years old. The crime was committed on Monday (22/04), on Rua 5 de Setembro, in the municipality.

According to delegate José Barradas, head of the police unit, the victim was working as a motorcycle taxi and was waiting for a passenger at the location, when two individuals arrived on a motorcycle and one of them fired five shots at Jonatas.

“Investigations showed that the shooter and the driver of the motorcycle were ordered by “Estrela”, an individual who is involved in drug trafficking in Coari”, he explained.

According to the delegate, investigations continue to identify Rosenildo’s associates.

Rosenildo Gomes Garcia will be charged with murder and will be available to the courts.
