The first 22,180 vaccines against dengue that arrived in Alagoas this Friday, the 26th, will begin to be distributed to municipalities on Monday, the 29th.

According to the Ministry of Health, the distribution was made considering classification criteria for health regions and municipalities, the required number of doses according to the availability predicted by the manufacturer, and the calculation of the total doses to be delivered.

The “Qdenga” immunizer is stored at the headquarters of the National Immunization Program in Alagoas (PNI/AL), in Maceió. In total, the state of Alagoas will receive 88,694 doses.

Who is the target audience for vaccination?

The initial target audience for this first stage of vaccination is children and adolescents between 10 and 14 years old, as they are the ones with the highest proportion of hospitalizations due to dengue, according to the Ministry of Health (MS).
