TJ-BA inspectors are honored during the 93rd National Meeting in Tocantins

The general inspector of Justice of the Court of Justice of Bahia (TJ-BA), judge Roberto Maynard Frank, and the inspector of the Interior Districts of the TJ-BA, judge Pilar Célia Tobio de Claro, were one of those honored during the 93rd Meeting National Board of General Inspectors of Justice of Brazil (Encoge) and the 5th Meeting of the National Land Forum of General Inspectors of Justice – event held in Tocantins.

The judges received the Medal of Honor for the Merit of Judge Décio Antônio Erpen, from the Permanent College of Inspectors and General Inspectors of the Courts of Justice of Brazil.

The meeting, which began on Wednesday night, also granted the honor to judge Fabianne Breton Baisch, general inspector of the Court of Justice of Rio Grande do Sul (TJ-RS); and to judges Francisco José dos Anjos Bandeira de Mello, Luiz Antônio Zanini Fornerolli and Gilberto Barbosa Batista dos Santos, general inspectors of the Courts of Justice of Pernambuco, Santa Catarina and Rondônia, respectively.

Also honored were the deputy inspector general of the Court of Justice of Tocantins (TJ-TO), judge Jacqueline Adorno; the vice-president, judge Ângela Prudente; judge Eurípedes do Carmo Lamounier; and retired judge Célia Regina Régis, all from TJ-TO.

The Medal of Honor for Merit Judge Décio Antônio Erpen honors public and private authorities who have provided notable services to the Permanent College of Corregedoras and Corregedores-General of the Courts of Justice of Brazil (CCOGE), or who have contributed to the strengthening, improvement and the speed of judicial provision, as well as for the cause of justice.

LECTURE

The national justice advisor, judge José Edivaldo Rocha Rotondano, from TJ-BA, spoke during the opening of the events. On the occasion, he spoke about joining forces to transform the reality of the Brazilian prison system.

The lecture “Just Penalty – National Plan for Confronting the Unconstitutional State of Affairs in Brazilian Prisons – ADPF 347” was presented together with the assistant judge of the Presidency of the National Council of Justice (CNJ) and coordinator of the Department of Monitoring and Inspection of the Prison System and the Socio-Educational Measures Execution System (DMF), judge Luís Geraldo Sant’ana Lanfredi.

The 93rd National Meeting of General Inspectors of Justice in Brazil and the 5th Meeting of the National Land Forum of General Inspectors of Justice continue until Friday (26). On this occasion, magistrates from all units of the Federation discuss topics related to dialogue, transparency, innovation, land governance and sustainable development.
