Unit of the Cancer Hospital of Mato Grosso, carries out more than 450 services in Sorriso

Mobile Unit of the Cancer Hospital of Mato Grosso, was in Sorriso, providing several services, on Monday the 22nd.

On that occasion, 85 consultations were carried out with a Urologist (prostate cancer prevention); 78 consultations with a dermatologist (skin cancer) were also provided; 143 breast consultations and 80 mammography exams; 45 maxillofacial consultations and 36 CCO exams (Oncological Cervical Cytology).

It is important to highlight that after carrying out this cancer prevention effort, upon realizing the need, doctors at the Cancer Hospital refer patients to carry out more complex procedures at the hospital headquarters in Cuiabá. Therefore, in addition to the consultation, 14 patients were referred for skin surgery; six patients for a prostate biopsy, one patient for a breast biopsy, in addition, two oral biopsies were collected in the mobile unit and 11 patients were referred for specialized consultations in maxillofacial, one patient for a specialized consultation in the head and neck, two patients were referred for consultation with an oncological surgeon and one for a pediatric surgeon, totaling 38 patients referred.

The representative of Hospital Elenice de Oliveira Prates Mansor commented “I thank you for the partnership with Sorriso City Hall, Department of Health, we are a chain and our main objective is to save lives, and today we are here, with our team for this, so we will serve the population, and everything that is detected here, will be sent to our hospital in Cuiabá and together we will fight this disease that does not recognize age, color or social class.”

Health Secretary Luís Fábio Marchioro highlighted the importance of this initiative “I want to thank the hospital, Elenice, you and your team are always very welcome to Sorriso, this joint effort is very important, almost 500 people attended, here we try to diagnose this disease at the beginning, already refer the patient for treatment, in order to save lives, so thank you very much, congratulations to the Mato Grosso Cancer Hospital, which carries out this beautiful work, throughout the state”.
