A 14-year-old indigenous teenager was rescued by teams from the Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu) and the Acre Integrated Air Operations Center (Ciopaer). The young woman was pregnant and needed to be transferred to Rio Branco to have the baby.
The child was born at the Bárbara Heliodora Maternity Hospital through normal birth. According to the government, which announced the case this Thursday (25), mother and son are doing well.
The rescue began on Tuesday (23) and only ended on Wednesday (24) in Aldeia Santa Rosa, which is located in the Riozinho Indigenous Land, on the banks of the Iaco River, in Assis Brasil, in the interior of Acre.
According to government information, the rescue team was informed that the teenager had been in labor for two days. A team was set up in Rio Branco with agents from Ciopaer and doctors from Samu to search for the minor.
Upon leaving the capital, the team highlighted that there was no rain forecast and the weather was clear. However, during the journey the weather changed and the helicopter was unable to land and had to change its route.
The aircraft landed on a farm near the village. After waiting around an hour and a half, Samu and Ciopaer employees managed to continue their journey and reach the community.
The teenager was stabilized and accommodated on the aircraft to continue traveling to the capital of Acre. However, once again, the change in the weather prevented the trip and the team landed the helicopter on another farm close to the community, where they spent the night.
The rescue was completed early Wednesday evening when the team arrived in Rio Branco.
