Senator Mecias de Jesus (Republicanos-RR) was stopped by the Federal Police (PF) in Alto Alegre, municipality of Roraima, this Thursday morning (25/4), with cash in his car. The politician was accompanied by councilor Genilson Costa, president of the Municipal Council of Boa Vista, the state capital.
The case occurred in the last few days to decide the new mayor of Alto Alegre. The municipality’s supplementary elections are scheduled for next Sunday (28/4), and the competitors are Valdenir Magrão (MDB) and Wagner Nunes (Republicans).
Check out part of the approach:
The senator’s team reported that the politician has a rented farm near the municipality and that he had left Boa Vista in order to pay expenses on the rural property.
The senator’s driver who was driving the car was detained to provide clarification on the amount.
Mecias de Jesus’ team reinforces that it was a routine action by the PF and that there are no irregularities in the money found in the vehicle. The amount would only be used to pay expenses and there is no connection with the supplementary elections.
O Metropolises He tried to contact councilor Genilson Costa and the PF of Roraima, but received no response. The space remains open.
