This Monday morning (22), councilors Márcia Lobo and Gabriela Delgado were present at the Cycle of Lectures on Legislation and Traffic Safety and Workshop on Traffic Education Projects in Mato Grosso do Sul. The event, organized by Cetran (State Traffic Council of Mato Grosso do Sul), took place in the UEMS auditorium and brought together representatives of the transit system from 51 municipalities in the state.

In order to train, guide and update participants on traffic legislation, in addition to debating the importance of traffic education and safety, the event had the active presence of councilors, who highlighted the relevance of the topic for society.

Márcia Lobo, who chairs the Legislative Women’s Attorney’s Office, highlighted the concern with inclusion and equity in transport, especially with regard to women’s participation in the sector.

“How many people mourn the loss of a child, a father, a wife, due to traffic accidents. Many others suffer because of post-accident consequences. Hence the importance of legal provisions, awareness campaigns, workshops and lectures updating knowledge for professionals in the segment, among other actions that aim to promote safer traffic for everyone, pedestrians and drivers”, he highlighted.

In the end, the councilor also stated that the municipal legislative power is attentive to traffic issues that directly impact the community, reinforcing the need for cooperation between public authorities and civil society in the search for effective solutions to the challenges faced in traffic.
