Pernambuco launches Youth Qualification Journey Program to facilitate the entry of young people into the job market

O Youth Qualification Day Program, an initiative of the State Government, was launched this Wednesday (24) at an event held in the auditorium of the Faculty of Administration Sciences of Pernambuco, in Recife. The program offers training courses for public school students in the age group between 14 and 29 years old.

The project, coordinated by the Secretariat for Professional Development and Entrepreneurship, offers 10,000 places in 15 courses with themes relevant to the world of work and business. Students will participate in classes online through the Júnior Achievement (JA Brasil) platform. Each student may choose to participate in one or more courses, among the 15 available titles.

Professional courses make it easier for young people to access the job market, which tends to be more resistant to hiring people without experience and training. Access to qualifications is a distant reality for most young people, especially those who have a low level of education, little family support and a fragile economic situation.

“We, with this cooperation agreement, begin to offer young people from Pernambuco, with a focus on Young Apprentices, 10 thousand places in 15 different free and distance learning courses with certification. These 15 courses will be available so that young people can choose as many as they want to do and, with that, complete their training. We know that Pernambuco, unfortunately, has an unemployment rate, among young people, above the national average and we have been working hard to address this whole issue”, said acting governor Priscila Krause.

And student Bruna Luísa, 17 years old, from Erem Joaquim Távora, in Recife, was present at the event alongside her high school classmates and commented that she thinks the program “excellent, because we are constantly receiving new information about the world and sometimes, with the advancement of technology, we end up needing greater qualifications”;
