A fugitive from justice, a pastor from an evangelical church was arrested by the Civil Police of Alagoas (PC/AL), this Tuesday (23), in Alto do Cruzeiro, in Arapiraca. Cícero Domingos da Silva, aged 73, had been convicted of raping his own granddaughter from the age of 6 to 9.
According to information from the city’s regional delegate, Edberg de Oliveira, the facts were discovered in 2014, when the accused worked as an evangelical pastor in Maceió and took the opportunity to commit sexual abuse in Arapiraca, during the absence of the child’s parents.
“He gathered in Maceió and, on his days off, he came to Arapiraca, to his son’s house, and took advantage of his parents’ departure to stay with two children, one aged two and the other aged 6, this being the criminal’s target” , informed the delegate.
Abuse, according to Edberg, was frequent, with the granddaughter being a victim of the pastor from the age of six to nine. “He grabbed her breasts, touched her genitals, as well as other sexual practices. However, the crime was discovered by his own mother and daughter-in-law, who returned home and caught one of the criminal actions.”
The delegate emphasized to the report that Cícero was already being sought, but he always changed his address, ever since he was informed about the sentencing order, and even left the congregation.
“Yesterday we complied with the arrest warrant and he was sent to the prison system. Regardless of whether he is elderly, the punishment is the same, the treatment is the same, respecting, of course, the rights guaranteed by law”, he stressed.
