A 70-year-old woman was killed after reporting drug trafficking in the neighborhood where she lived in Água Doce do Norte, North of Espírito Santo. Sebastiana Pereira Rodrigues had been missing since Saturday (20) and was found dead inside her home on Tuesday afternoon (23).

The Military Police reported that a 17-year-old young man, who is the victim’s grandnephew, confessed to the crime and was found dead this Wednesday morning on the banks of a state highway.

According to a bulletin from the Military Police, a resident called the police saying that Sebastiana was missing and that he had gone to the woman’s house with the victim’s nephew.

When they arrived at the scene in the Vila Nelita neighborhood, they found the body and a lot of blood around the house. The police were called and went to the residence.

Woman reports trafficking and is murdered by grandnephew

Some residents pointed out that the main suspect in the crime would be a minor known by the PM for participating in drug trafficking and committing other crimes in the region.

Police managed to locate the suspect, who confessed to the crime at the police station. In his statement, the young man said that the victim was reporting drug trafficking in the neighborhood, and that’s why he decided to kill her on Saturday.

The expert also pointed out that the body was already in the decomposition phase. It was not possible to identify the use of a bladed weapon or firearm, and only after examinations can the cause of death be identified.

The Civil Police said that the teenager was taken to the Barra de São Francisco Regional Police Station and was interviewed and released, as it was found that the crime occurred on Saturday and there was no flagrant situation.

Regarding the young man’s body found on the banks of ES080, the police reported that they are continuing to investigate the case.

The victim’s body was sent to the Legal Medical Service (SML) of Colatina, where it will undergo an autopsy process. It will later be released to family members.

O g1 contacted the Instituto de Atendimento Socioeducativo do Espírito Santo (IASES) to find out if the young man had already committed any infraction, but did not receive any response until the end of this report.
