With topics such as regulation of Tax Reform, launching of premiums and credit lines, BrC (Consórcio Brasil Central) brought together governors in an assembly on Tuesday (23). The meeting, held at the headquarters of BRB (Bank of Brasília), under the presidency of the governor of Goiás, Ronaldo Caiado, was attended by governors Mauro Mendes (MT) and Wanderlei Barbosa (TO), vice-governor Celina Leão ( DF) and vice-governor José Carlos Barbosa, Barbosinha (MS), as well as leaders and representatives of the consortium states.

Barbosinha represented the State Government alongside the State Secretary of Finance, Flávio César at the event. During the meeting on tax reform, a draft of the bills regulating the reform was presented, a topic of great relevance for economic development.

“We participated in a private session with Comsefaz (National Committee of Secretaries of Finance, Finance, Revenue or Taxation of the States and the Federal District), in which we were able to debate the results and negotiations carried out to date, aiming to improve the tax system and the strengthening of the regional economy, which allowed us to further strengthen ties and cooperation between regions”, stated Barbosinha.

During the Assembly, the Brasil Central 2024 Consortium Best Public Security Practices Award was launched, which aims to recognize public initiatives that stand out in promoting the security and well-being of communities in the Central Brazil region. Servants linked to direct and indirect public administration bodies and entities in the consortium states can compete, with projects that encourage the implementation of effective and innovative public policies to guarantee a safer environment for citizens.

Another milestone was the inauguration of the credit line for the Public Security area of ​​the Consortium States, an initiative in partnership with Banco de Brasília. Present at the meeting, the Secretary of Justice and Public Security, Antônio Carlos Videira, explained that the financial resources will be used to boost the modernization of equipment used by security institutions, directly contributing to the effectiveness of operations to combat crime and protect the population .

Finally, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the UNDP (United Nations Development Programme) and the Brasil Central Consortium, with a focus on establishing collaboration in relation to the UN 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Barbosinha explained that this agreement aims to engage public servants from the states involved in the 2030 Agenda, while promoting integrated development in the region, combined with environmental preservation and access to international financing instruments for projects related to sustainability.

“This Assembly represents an important milestone in our search for joint solutions to the challenges we face. The union and collaboration between the states of Central Brazil are fundamental to boost the economic and social development of our region”, concluded the governor of Goiás and president of BrC, Ronaldo Caiado.
