UBESS WILL INVEST R$300 MILLION WITH SUPPORT FROM THE GOVERNMENT OF MINAS TO EXPAND ITS ENERGY STORAGE ACTIVITIES

One of the leading companies providing energy storage solutions, UCB Power announces the expansion of its production activities in Extrema (MG) aiming at the local manufacturing of energy storage solutions from the UBESS line (UCB Battery Energy Storage System). The planned investment until 2028 is R$380 million and has the support of Invest Minas, an investment promotion agency of the Government of Minas Gerais, and the Government of the State of Minas Gerais through tax incentives and financing of special credit lines. . The expansion of our facilities and the maturation of the market will be important factors for the consolidation of the storage sector in the country. With the investment in the necessary electrical infrastructure, we will have a more sustainable, dynamic and electrified economy.” In total, until the completion of the project, the company projects something close to 500 vacancies based on its investments.

UCB Power’s investment will be carried out in two stages, aiming at a strategic, efficient and safe implementation of new production lines. In the first phase, scheduled for the period 2024/25, the resources will be allocated to the expansion of the current factory in Extrema (MG), while in the second phase, designed between 2025/26, land will be rented to accommodate the leap in production, in what will be the the company’s third factory in Brazil. In addition to the factory in Extrema (MG), the company has a battery factory in Manaus, where part of the manufacturing will be used to scale BESS solutions.
