The Regional Council of Veterinary Medicine of Paraíba (CRMV-PB) announced its support for the creation of the Agricultural Defense Agency of Paraíba, in conjunction with the movement to value the state’s Agricultural Defense employees. The entity also sent a file to the State Government and Legislative Assembly talking about the importance of creating the structure.
This positioning reinforces the strategic importance of this initiative for strengthening agriculture and livestock in Paraíba, in addition to caring for animal and human health, in order to promote the protection of rural producers, the health of livestock and the food security of the population.
CRMV-PB highlighted the relevance of creating the Agricultural Defense Agency as a fundamental step to guarantee the quality of services provided to farmers and society as a whole. “In addition to the economic issue, we are talking about public health here. This body plays a fundamental role in controlling diseases that are transmitted from animals to humans, the so-called zoonoses”, said the president of the Council José Cecílio.
This Monday (22), CRMV-PB expressed support for the open letter from the Union of Agronomists, Veterinarians and Zootechnicians of Paraíba (Sinavez-PB) defending the creation of the agency and a policy of valuing employees.
Sinavez-PB highlights that the creation of the Agricultural Defense Agency aims to provide the necessary support to restructure employees’ working conditions, thus ensuring a more efficient and effective service. This support is essential to meet the demands of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply (MAPA) and to raise quality standards in agriculture in Paraíba.
The Agricultural Defense Agency’s purpose is to monitor and regulate the defense service, as there is a high level of embezzlement in relation to animal and plant inspection of products entering and leaving the State.
