Two men, aged 24 and 34, were arrested this Friday afternoon (April 24) with 16 bars of marijuana in the trunk of a car on MG-452, in Araxá, in the Central region of Minas Gerais. During the approach, one of them reportedly told the police that he was afraid of being taken to prison because of conflicts between criminal factions and his connection with the First Capital Command (PCC). Both suspects are involved in theft and drug trafficking crimes.

According to the Military Highway Police, the arrest occurred during an operation on the highway. The vehicle, with a Contagem license plate, in the metropolitan region of Belo Horizonte, allegedly disobeyed a mandatory stop order. The driver allegedly fled at high speed. There was a chase, and the pair were arrested after the car they were in overturned.

In the vehicle, the military found 16 bars of marijuana in the trunk. The suspects told the police that they left Uberlândia, in the Triângulo Mineiro region, and were destined for Belo Horizonte. During consultation with the police intelligence system, it was verified that one of those involved was born in São Paulo, and had an open arrest warrant issued by the District of Viçosa.

The suspects were taken to the police station, where they gave statements. The seized drugs were sent to the pair.
