During the event, which was attended by vice-governor Ronaldo Lessa, the scholarships were made official and represent an important milestone for the economic and social development of Alagoas. The Bumba Meu Boi Festival was also made official as an annual event on the state calendar, highlighting the cultural and historical relevance that this celebration represents for the state.
Governor Paulo Dantas recorded a message highlighting the importance of technical assistance and rural extension grants for the family agricultural sector. Vice-governor Lessa highlighted that the culture of Bumba Meu Boi is rooted in Alagoas folklore and deserves full recognition.
Furthermore, the grants granted during the event aim to guarantee policies for agricultural production, contributing to the organization of MST and family cooperatives, promoting the production of healthy food and stimulating the development of the settlers’ agriculture.
With the concession, nine researchers from different areas will be hired to work in Agricultural Production Cooperatives, contributing to the supply of healthy food and income generation in rural areas.
The Bumba Meu Boi Festival was officially recognized as one of the main cultural events in the state of Alagoas, attracting visitors from all over Brazil and abroad. This initiative received support from the Department of Culture and reinforces the importance of cultural activities for the creative economy and social development.
