This is because, this year, the municipality expects to exceed 200 thousand voters. To close this account, there are 10 thousand voters left who have not yet made transfers of the new title. If this happens, São José will be on the same level as Joinville, Florianópolis and Blumenau, which could have a possible second round in the election to choose a mayor.

How is the race for the 2024 Elections going in the largest cities in SC and who are the pre-candidates

This definition, however, will only be made in May, when the deadline for regularizations with the electoral registry ends. According to Lais Nunes Pedroso, president of the 29th electoral zone of São José, based on the latest survey carried out by the Regional Electoral Court (TRE-SC) carried out last week, there are 192,221 registered voters.

She points out, however, that this number fluctuates since, in the same way that people transfer their title to São José, there are those who leave the city to vote in other cities or states.

— So we will only really know after May 8th, when the electoral registration closes, that, according to the TSE resolution, there is also online service. After all these negotiations and checks, we will really be able to say whether or not the municipality will have a second round — he explains.

In-person and online service and schedules

It is worth highlighting that, for those who already have biometrics registered, the regularization process can be done by TRE website. In-person attendance is only required for those who are taking their first title and, therefore, have not registered their fingerprint in the system. To do this, prior booking is required.

On Saturday, May 4th, TRE will hold a collective effort for those who want in-person assistance. Appointments can be made between 9am and 1pm. On the 6th, 7th and 8th, the opening hours will be reduced, starting at 9am and ending at 5pm. Regular hours are noon to 7 p.m.

Voter registration

To issue the first title, the voter must access the TRE-SC website, in this link, and schedule your in-person appointment. In Santa Catarina, this service can be provided at any of the electoral offices, regardless of where the voter intends to vote.

Enlistment is mandatory from the age of 18, but young voters aged 16 and 17 can obtain the registration and exercise their right to vote. In addition, 15-year-olds can also enlist and, if they turn 16 by the date of the first round (October 6), they will be able to vote on the day.

Transfer and regularization

Voters who wish to transfer their registration to vote in a municipality in Santa Catarina, or transfer their voting location within the same city, must, first of all, check their electoral status and remember whether they have biometrics collected in the Electoral Court registry. This query can be made via the website, in this linkand also in e-Título application.

Voters who already have a biometric registration can request the transfer of the title through the TRE-SC website, through the online self-service.

Anyone who does not have biometrics must schedule your appointment at any electoral office in the State to collect biometric data and then request the transfer of municipality or voting location.

It is necessary to present a proof of connection with the municipality where the voter wishes to vote, which may be residential, family, professional, community or emotional.

Anyone whose title is canceled can also regularize your situation online, if you already have biometrics. Otherwise, it is necessary to schedule an in-person appointment.

Voters with biometrics can do this review via online self-service. Those who do not have it must schedule an appointment and attend in person.

As with other services, this in-person service can be provided at any electoral office in Santa Catarina, regardless of the city where the voter votes.

In this data review, voters who have a disability must inform it. This is important for the Electoral Court to inspect and monitor the accessibility of voting locations.
