-

The Regional Training Center in the municipality of Luís Eduardo Magalhães, in Western Bahia, was reopened last Saturday (20), in a ceremony that brought together representatives of sector entities and rural producers.

Senar Bahia expanded and modernized technical education equipment, which offers free courses and training and prepares professionals for the agribusiness market.

According to the Bahia Agriculture and Livestock Federation (Faeb), the unit was implemented 10 years ago.

Since then, it has undergone extensive renovation and modernization to adapt to the current demand of one of the most thriving agricultural regions in the state.

In addition to the structural part, the course offering catalog was also expanded, with options aimed at the region’s production chains.

The president of the Faeb/Senar System, Humberto Miranda, highlighted the importance of training young people for the sector.

“Today, the field is a highly technological place that requires specific knowledge. The Center arrives precisely to fulfill this function of training young people to fill the vacancies created by this segment that employs the most and, therefore, prevent many people from leaving their communities to fill the outskirts of large cities, without the opportunity for a decent job. With adequate training, these young people will be able to contribute to their parents’ businesses, to the community itself and pursue a promising career”, commented the president of the Faeb/Senar System, Humberto Miranda.

The main economic activity in the Western region, agribusiness is the sector that employs the most and also the one that demands the most qualified labor.

According to Faeb, the center will serve the entire West and even other regions of Bahia, with technical courses in agribusiness, agriculture, animal husbandry, in addition to being a hub for the CNA College.

According to the president of the Union of Rural Producers of Luís Eduardo Magalhães, Greice Kelli Fontana, the Center is mainly responsible for placing professionals on the market and now with much greater training capacity.

“Many talents have already emerged from here and there will certainly be much more. It is important to say that, in addition to training, young people leave here employed, as the farms absorb this workforce. It is agriculture making its important contribution to the economy and also to society”, he assessed.
