student reports violence in place where 13-year-old boy was attacked

One 14 year old teenager, a student at the Júlio Pardo Couto State School, in Praia Grande (SP), reported that attacks are common at the educational institution. It was at this school where student Carlos Teixeira, aged 13, was attacked from behind and later died.

In an interview with g1, the teenager said that there is a group of attackers known as the ‘terror group’. According to him, acts of violence are committed in the bathroom, which is called the ‘bathroom of death’, as there are no security cameras there for monitoring.

“There was even a little group of kids, called the ‘terror group’. I’ve heard a lot about this bathroom, and it was known as the ‘bathroom of death”, he reported.

The teenager’s mother said she will change the boy’s school. “Families are afraid to send [as crianças] for there. I’m decided. My son will no longer study there. My son, for example, was attacked there, but I managed to resolve it in time. She discovered the attacks against her son because the boy tried to leave school early, as he was afraid of suffering other violence on the way out. “But he was ‘caught’ and taken to the board,” she said.

The mother said she contacted the management, who said they had not recorded any attacks on the teenager that day. “The feeling is one of revolt and fear,” she said. “This bathroom is very dangerous. All fights are resolved there, as there are no cameras. They [os agressores] they wait for the student they want to do bullying enter and then attack in packs. They’re always the same,” he concluded.

Remember the case

Carlos Teixeira Gomes Ferreira Nazara, aged 13, died on April 16, after being attacked at the Júlio Pardo Couto State School, in Praia Grande (SP). The boy was kicked in the back. He was admitted to Santa Casa de Santos, as he was having difficulty breathing, suffered three cardiorespiratory arrests and could not resist.

The boy’s father, Julisses Fleming, said that his son was in 6th grade and had been the victim of attacks and harassment by other students at the school. According to him, despite having contacted the educational institution to report the episodes of bullyingnothing was made.

In a statement, the São Paulo State Department of Education (Seduc-SP) stated that it deeply regrets the student’s death. “The Education Board of São Vicente initiated an internal preliminary investigation of the case and is collaborating with the authorities in the investigations”, added the department.
