Last month, the Indian Bajaj surprised everyone when it overtook the beloved Honda in the naked segment, in the ranking of the best-selling motorcycles in Brazil. What seemed to be a temporary explosion is actually proving to be a market trend as in April the Bajaj Dominar 400 remains ahead of the Honda CB 500 and is the second most sold in the category.

As released by the National Federation of Motor Vehicle Distribution (Fenabrave) – which lists the best-selling motorcycles in Brazil – in March the Bajaj Dominar 400 registered 472 units and it surpassed models such as the Honda CB 500, Yamaha MT-09 and MT-07.
- Now in the month of April, Dominar registered even more units (497) and remained in second place, behind only the Yamaha MT-03, which also grew in the category and is an absolute leader with 893 sales.
The Indian brand intends to continue growing among the best-selling motorcycles in Brazil and its big bet for this year is close to becoming reality. Bajaj will no longer assemble its models at the Dafra factory to have its own plant, also in the Manaus Industrial Complex. The expectations are that everything will be working by the end of May.
Another novelty among the best-selling motorcycles in Brazil, which we speculated here last month, is the return of BMW in the big trail category. The German had lost strength with its champion R 1250 GS, but ranked well again with the new R 1300 GS. All of this probably only happened because customers were waiting for the launch of the new trail bike, which however was not enough to beat the Honda CB 500X saw a boom in growth, going from 297 registrations to 542.
