Young surfer reached the second phase of the Under-18 category in the opening stage of the national event, in Porto de Galinhas

Maranhão surfer Kadu Pakinha, who counts on sponsorship from the State government and Potiguar through the Sports Incentive Law, began his career in one of the most important events of the season: the Brazilian Base Surfing Circuit, organized by Brazilian Surfing Confederation (CBSurf). In the first stage of the Brazilian Circuit, held between Thursday (18) and Sunday (21), in Porto de Galinhas, in the city of Ipojuca-PE, Kadu performed well in the Under-18 category, reaching the second stage, and also competed in the Under-16 category.

“I am very happy to represent Maranhão on the Brazilian Circuit. The result could have been better, but it was worth the experience and learning. I will return home motivated to train hard to correct my mistakes, with the aim of climbing the rankings in the next stages. I thank the State government and Potiguar for all their support so that I can defend the State on the national surfing scene”, says Kadu.

After the event in Porto de Galinhas, Kadu Pakinha will have a few days of training until the next challenges of the year. Before competing in the second stage of the Brazilian Base Surfing Circuit, which will take place between the 1st and 4th of August, in Matinhos-PR, the surfer from Maranhão will participate in the Carioca Circuit, one of the most competitive in the country.

Kadu Pakinha starts the season motivated by the excellent results he achieved during 2023. The surfer from Maranhão was among the four best placed in the three stages of the ASN Puro Suco Nova Geração Circuit, in Niterói, and was a semi-finalist in the U-16 and Sub categories. -18 of the 2nd stage of the Cyclone Surf Circuit, in Rio de Janeiro.

Furthermore, Kadu Pakinha reached the semifinals of the Canto Open, secured fourth place in the Under-16 Male category of the Grumari Masters, competed in the Saquarema Surf Pro Am and was in two stages of the Brazilian Base Surfing Circuit, where he gained experience for the 2024 events.
