Abear participated in the public hearing on the expansion of an important airport in western Bahia
One public hearing held today (23), at Road and Transport Committee of the Chamber of Deputiesdiscussed the expansion of Barreiras airportin the west of the state of Bahia.
Raul de Souza, director of Operations and Flight Safety at the Brazilian Association of Airlines (Abear), participated in the debate together with parliamentarians, representatives of the Bahian government, the Ministry of Ports and Airports and the National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC).
During the meeting, the Civil Aviation Secretariat received the final project for interventions at the airport (BRA), which will now undergo analysis. “Airlines want to fly more and more within Brazil. We will follow it closely, because we understand that Barreiras is a super important destination to connect the region with the main centers”, said Souza.
Currently, Barreiras is served by Azul Linhas Aéreas and Voepass Linhas Aéreas, with flights to/from Belo Horizonte (CNF) and Brasília (BSB).
