The Civil Police of Santa Catarina, in a coordinated operation between the Criminal Investigation Division of Maravilha (SC) and the Investigation and Capture Sector of the Pinhalzinho Police Station, managed to identify and arrest the person responsible for the death of an elderly woman in Pinhalzinho ( SC) within a period of less than 12 hours after the crime that occurred on Tuesday morning (02).

At around 8:40 am, the elderly woman, identified as Olivia Steffens, aged 85, was found dead in the bathroom of her business, located close to the city center of Pinhalzinho. The victim had massive bleeding on her face, indicating that she had suffered a blunt blow to her face.
As soon as it was called, the Civil Police arrived at the scene and isolated it until the Scientific Police arrived. The investigators then began to carry out several steps in search of elements that would lead to the discovery of who was responsible for the crime and its motivation.
After hard and uninterrupted work, in the city of Pinhalzinho and region, the Civil Police were successful in identifying the suspect and locating his whereabouts, capturing him at around 7:30 pm, in the São Pedro neighborhood, in Pinhalzinho.
At the time of capture, the suspect admitted responsibility for the crime and stated that his motivation was solely financial.
At the capture location, the clothes used by the suspect during the crime were located and identified, as well as the pocket knife used.
After the suspect was taken to the Police Station, a notice of arrest was issued against him for committing robbery. He was subsequently handed over to the care of the Criminal Police, at the UPA of Maravilha, where he will remain at the disposal of the Justice Department.
