Jeandro Ribeiro, CEO of CAR, highlights the importance of SIM/SUSAF as fundamental instruments for the safe commercialization of family farming products throughout the state. “It is another result of public policies developed in our state. CAR has already supported the implementation of the Municipal Inspection Seal (SIM) in 306 municipalities in Bahia. There are 163 certified agribusinesses and 941 products that have the SIM. With SUSAF, SIM-certified products in every corner of Bahia will be able to expand their sales.”

The SIM/SUSAF-Bahia State Seminar was also highlighted on CAR’s Family Agriculture Podcast, broadcast on the company’s YouTube and Instagram (@carbahia). State deputy Bobô, author of the Bill that regulates SUSAF in Bahia, highlights the importance of this initiative. “It is an advance that Bahia gains, as it is the state that invests the most in family farming in the country. I hope that the law approved by the Legislative Assembly of Bahia can benefit and change the lives of rural men and women for the better, especially those who produce animal derivatives. And CAR is a reference when talking about this change.”

Paulo Sérgio Luz, general director of the State Agricultural Defense Agency of Bahia (Adab), also highlights the relevance of SUSAF and SIM for the state. “SUSAF, together with SIM, will enable products from the 417 municipalities to be shared among them. With the arrival of SUSAF, they will be able to sell to the four corners of Bahia, generating more income and jobs for the state”.

The SIM/SUSAF-Bahia State Seminar promises to be a milestone in the consolidation and strengthening of family farming in Bahia, demonstrating the State’s commitment to socioeconomic development and the quality of agro-industrialized products.
