The meeting was held last Wednesday night (27), where an approach to optimizing the parameters used in the Phacoemulsification technique was highlighted, led by ophthalmologist Durval Carvalho, a specialist in cataract surgery. Ophthalmologists Jonathan Lake and Carlos Souza, from HBDF, analyzed clinical cases that sparked debates about the best management of cataracts at different stages of maturity.

The ophthalmologist and head of the HBDF ophthalmology service, Danillo Almeida, commented on the importance of this event at the hospital: “Faco Clube Brasília is a unique opportunity for the exchange of knowledge and experiences between professionals in the field. In addition to promoting the improvement of our residents, contributing significantly to the continuous improvement of ophthalmological care, directly benefiting our patients.”

The organization of the event by the hospital’s 3rd year residents promoted a participatory dynamic between surgeons in training and those more experienced.
