A case that gained national repercussion, last Sunday (31), involved a woman from Paraíba. It turns out that, after heavy rains hit Santa Cruz do Capibaribe, in Agreste Pernambuco, a green vehicle, transporting a family and a friend, was swept away by the current in the São Jorge neighborhood. Sara Micaele Ferreira de Melo, a native of Camalaú, from Paraíba, remains missing.

The car, carrying the father, mother and a two-year-old child, as well as a family friend, became stuck in a second wet passage, where the father desperately tried to save his loved ones, screaming for help. The driver, Antônio da Silva Bezerra, 27 years old, survived the incident.

The child’s body was found the morning after the accident, around 5 am yesterday (1st). The mother, Diana Maria Barbosa, 30 years old, was located approximately 5 km from the place where the car was dragged, in the rural area of ​​Santa Cruz do Capibaribe, in Vila do Amor. The third passenger, a family friend, is Sara Micaele Ferreira de Melo.

According to the Pernambuco Water and Climate Agency (APAC), the volume of rain reached around 106 mm in Santa Cruz do Capibaribe on Sunday (31), causing flash floods and making wet passages dangerous for crossing.

Fire Department diving teams continue to search for the body of the third victim. Until the publication of this article, the body of Sara Micaele Ferreira de Melo remains missing.
