The Special Secretariat for Youth in Rio de Janeiro (JUVRio) inaugurated, this Monday (01), another Youth Space. The unit located in the Jacarezinho favela is the sixth opened by the City of Rio with a focus on training young people aged 15 to 29 interested in preparing for the opportunities of Industry 4.0.

In the Space, courses in Digital Media, Game Design, Robotics, Mobile Programming, Sound Industry (DJ), 3D Printing, Drone Operator, Advanced Industry and IT for Business will be offered. The project has already trained more than 10 thousand students since the first unit was opened, less than two years ago.

Student Isabela Veiga Coutinho, aged 16, will be one of the people benefiting from the new Youth Space. A resident of Jacarezinho, she will save time and money on transportation to take the desired courses.

“It will make it easier for me, because I took the course at Estácio’s Youth Space, which is a little far away. As I’m now living in Jacarezinho, right back here, it’s easier to take the courses. I’m thinking about working with images, so the drone operator course will help a lot” – said the student.

The Jacarezinho unit begins its activities by offering 500 places in Information Technology for Business and Mobile Programming courses. There are 250 places for each course. To register, simply access the secretariat’s social networks until Wednesday (03/04) at the link: www.instagram.com/juvrio. Classes will be held between April 4th and 30th, with classes from Monday to Friday. The course will offer certification, like all others.
