Palmenses who usually schedule their days off between Thursday and Monday, depending on when the “holiday” falls, will have the opportunity to do so twice more this semester, counting on national and municipal holidays.

The nearest likely long holiday date is the city’s birthday, May 20, which this year falls on a Monday.

An extra day off for workers can also happen on May 30th, a Thursday, which will be Corpus Christi Day. This date is already considered optional point for federal public servants. Therefore, anyone entitled to rest during this period will have two additional long holidays this semester.

It is worth remembering that, while national holidays are provided for in federal law and are valid throughout the country, optional points are only valid for public servants.
