A 41-year-old woman died after being struck by lightning on Sunday afternoon (31), while fishing on the banks of the Paraguay River, in the Baía Negra Environmental Protection Area (APA), which is located in the city of Ladário (MS). ).

According to the Fire Department, the victim was leaning against a tree, on the banks of the Paraguay River, when he was hit by the electrical discharge. At the time of the accident, it was raining lightly in the region.

Experts warn about precautions that should be taken during storms with lightning incidence. Among them is not using a cell phone or electronic equipment plugged in. During storms, it is possible for lightning to strike the home’s electrical network, generating high voltage that can reach the cell phone.
